Meeting a new friend;

Today, when Jem and I was beginning our day's play,
we heard something next door in Miss Rachel's collard patch,
Jem and I was curious so we went to the wire fence to see if
there's a puppy because Miss Rachel's dog was expecting.
We saw no puppy instead we found someone sitting down
looking at us, so we stared back until he finally spoke.
He's name was Charles Baker Harris and he told us that he
could read, what a SNOB?... He thought that we couldn't
read so he offered his service to help us with anything that
needed reading, So what? I can read too, NO BIG DEAL !
He is not very tall but he is six going on seven,
I agree to something he said, 'little but old'. Jem invited him to come
over to our backyard and so he came... He said that we could call him Dill as
that was what people normally call him,
he said that he was from Meridian, Mississippi,
and he would be spending his summer here with his aunt - Miss Rachel.
He boasted to us saying that his mother had took a picture of him and it was sent to
the beautiful child contest, from there he won five dollars...
(How I wish I was the one) Hmms....
Dill even watch Dracula before, and I was SO jealous of him. He told us
everything about it, and Jem said that it was better
than the book... Then, i asked Dill about his family thereafter i realised that
Dill know nothing about his father, i continued to ask when he suddenly blush, OMG
I think I asked the wrong stuff.. D: Sorry Dill (: , So Jem told me to hush.
Dill was very good in play-acting, he played the characters
that was formerly thrusted on me - the ape in Tarzan , Mr Crabtree in
The Rover Boys, Mr Damon in Tom Swift. Dill was a fun and
interesting friend to be with ...
